Friday Photo
This isn't really as bizarre as it seems.
Thais traditionally use squat loos which are close to the floor (rather than chair height) and as the name suggest the user squats to use them. Even in the time we've been here we've seen more and more western loos appearing but you can't guarantee a life without coming across a squat loo so strong leg muscles are a must!

That's great. Thanks for the laugh! (Makes me thankful we don't have squat loos too, btw!)
That's hysterical.
Angie, squat loos aren't as bad as I feared but I'm always quite glad to get out without peeing on my foot.... sorry, it's true.
Su, thank you.
ha ha that is just so funny and prolly one of the reasons i don't do public loos.
Merry Christmas Jen
They have them in Peru too (I'm sure you really needed this useless information), and even in obscure corners of Paris..... I wish I had a bladder strong enough to be able to avoid public loos! Love the notice, though. What a nice sympathetic way to do a bit of Public Education!
Hilarious. I still remember going to the loo in St Malo years ago and being horrified to find that I had to stand over the...loo? I think I was about 10 yrs old at the time.
Interesting sign, uh? - but old habits die hard. But let's not carp on about that....
Have a good weekend, Boonie
Great sign! Trouble with squat loos is that one tends to be nearer the pong, I remember.
Happy Christmas anyway!
I remember being quite proud of myself for managing well in a squat loo in central France ('managing well' = 'not weeing on feet') - only to pull the chain and end up completely drenched by the over-enthusiastic flushing system! I wish that one had come with instructions.
Hilarious!
I forgot to mention that I once saw a similar sign in the UK. It said quite simply, "No Squatters"....
Have a nice day, Boonie
LOL, that's hilarious! I still remember my horror when I saw a traditional Japanese toilet! :O
Rach
well at least you get advance warning!
I find the 'enjoy' part rather disturbing!:-)
Where on earth did you see that, hilarious!
I have an award for you on my blog. Merry Christmas!
Catherine
