It's not bottlebrush; the leaves are quite, quite different. I don't know what this one is, but it's lovely. The flower looks a bit like those of the castor oil plant, but again, the foliage is different.
Debs, I'm horribly ignorant when it comes to plants (but Liane seems to know). I took the photo here in Bangkok, over in Silom Village. I can't work out why the background is black... did I take it with something behind it like that?
