Wow! Isn't the internet completely amazing? I can't believe we can see a piccie of you actually reading the book in Bangkok the day after Lucy received her author copies!!!!
I know what you man about the epiphany thing... it really can happen, can't it??? Woo hoo!!!
I had a mild panic after I first posted that you'd be cross that they are on the shelves before the official date, but that's Bangkok for you! Anyway, it was so fab (and unexpected so far ahead of the release) to see them on the shelf that I got thoroughly over excited.
I can't imagine how it must feel for you: despite having already had all the children's books published, it must be amazing to have your first adult novel appear. (Ooops, that sounds a bit like an adult only/erotic book, doesn't it? Although it IS rather saucy in places, too!)
Well, now I've spent the last 24 hours reading your book (including over lunch!) I am going to pop over to your blog to let you know what I thought...
It was a lovely surprise going into the bookshop. My sister in law is coming out to Bangkok in a couple of weeks, but before the book comes out, and I'd been wondering if I could ask her to look for it incase anyone put it on the shelves early. But she's not booky, and I don't think she'll have time to look much, so I decided I'd Amazon it.
But we'd just had lunch, and we always go into the bookshop when we're out, and there it was, when I least expected it.
I really enjoyed the read too. It was surprisingly saucy, but Lucy has dealt with the sexy scenes really well, not at all toe curling. Brilliant. I look forward to hearing your comments. I don't want to spoil it for anyone by getting more specific. JJ
I moved with my family to Bangkok in July 2005. What do I do? I make hats and costumes; I’ve written articles, a novel and a non-fiction book is underway… I've held a variety of volunteer positions within the expat community.
Tea stains is where I write and illustrate the things that consume me: life in Thailand, shop windows, books, cats, making, hats, fascinators, tea and the colour orange.

I love that "surprisingly saucy" - wish I'd seen it before I had my fliers printed up, I'd have put it on as a quote!
