Not stuck in a rut

I am getting out and about and discovering new places.

Yesterday we had lunch at Na Aroon restaurant at Ariyasomvilla. (For Bangkokians, this is past Bumrungrad at the top of Sukhumvit Soi 1.) Open just five months, it’s been built around a beautiful 1940s teak house. The restaurant specialises in tasty, healthy and organic foods. I can vouch for the tasty bit … we had a fantastic lunch.

Today I met my friend D at Coffee Alley in Sukhumvit Soi 16 because she fancied a ‘garden experience.’ I had a very good cup of tea (JJ standard stamp of approval!) and a yummy berry yogurt shakey thing. And you can have free wifi! Hoorah.

Coffee Alley.
On the right of Soi 16,
Sukhumvit end .

A place that provides JJ-approved tea, yummy berry yoghurt shakey things, and free WiFi sounds like my kinda place. Do they have sofas too?

Oh honey, sorry, but I've got to do something to fill the long, empty hours...

Leigh, YES and sofas. And a choice of inside (aircon) and outside (pretty but v. warm)

Sigh, it sounds so wonderful.

Oh dear. And I had a toasted teacake in a place with plastic chairs. *sigh*

Was the yummy berry yoghurt shakey thing really yummy? No. Don't tell me:-)

Oh yum!

I spent three years of my childhood in Malaysia and your picture brought back the memories of the humidity and smells of that country. Don't ask me why, it just did.

Would you collect a few smells from your favourite places and post them next time - I think the olfactory sense is the most evocative of all.
