God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change; exams, revision, Bangkok’s streets, other people’s parents.
Courage to change the things I can;
 the mess on my desk, the spagetti jumble of wires under my desk, the ergonomics of my writing space;
and wisdom to know the difference. How wise am I? Aren’t I doing well?

When the rest of life is spiraling out of control I’ve discovered there are lots of things I can control. Here’s an after picture of my desk. Yes, this IS after. This is tidy now, okay?

Thank you to everyone who has facebooked, emailed, texted or twittered support and thoughts to us.

Love the desk but I think you may yet have the opportunity to work on it again unfortunately.

I've just returned from my travels and have been thinking about you as I've watched the TV reports. Good to hear from you. Cx

Desk looks lovely, but I'm not quite seeing how you get your feet under there! Thinking of you lots and hoping you're all OK.

That looks very VERY tidy to me - you can see whole square inches of desktop, well done oh wise one! (BTW I answered the question you left in my comments box via a message on FB) x

I'm loving what you do with your mirrors. Cover them up. What a great idea for improving my self-esteem. I will set to immediately.

Loving all the orange. Very pretty.

Bum glue? Or burn glue:-)

I love the disparity of your life - you're living in a crazy, scary place yet I'm wondering about the knobbly foot things you keep under a desk in a war zone...

Love your desk and all that inspirational colour. Is your laptop orange? So gorgeous.

Hugs to you all. x

Liz, see the big pile of paper work on the left? Harumph - got to do that...

Chris, thank you. Did you have a lovely party? I saw you in Liz's photos. It must have been great fun.

Helen, I always seem to tuck my feet back under my chair - or on the bumpy foot things! Not good for posture I think.

Queenie, are you being sarcastic? This is very tidy for me. (Won't last long.) I got the FB message, thanks. I fancy the pastry one but it's probably too fattening!

Fran, can you IMAGINE sitting looking at yourself in the mirror while you're working? AGAAAGGGAH.

Lane, LOL. Bum glue!

Jen, Snipers? Bombs? Fighting? Pah; it's most important that my feet are pressure pointed as I work, no?

Debs, thank you. The laptop is an apple (silver) wearing an orange jacket!

I like the look of your writing space - full of creative inspiration & as a glimpse of your personality it makes me like you even more.

Just read & commented on 'Falling Down' post - thinking of you all.

Talli *sigh* yes. (I knew they'd be one...) I can't leave the mirror clear, can I? How distressing would it be to have to look at myself all the while I'm writing?

Green Ink, Nope *grins*

Suzanne, thank you.

Kat, thanks lovely. I saw the other comment too, and thanks for the follow on Twitter too.
