Morris Gleitzman

There's lots of excitement at home this afternoon.

Morris Gleitzman has been in daughter's school, talking about his writing, and signing the children's books, "G'day Child." Have a look here.

She didn't get chosen to ask him questions in the session, so she went to find him after school, to tell him 'My mum wants to know how you got your first book published?'

She nearly missed her bus for it. She loved him, but it wasn't information worth missing the bus home for!

He he - you're back!

The visiting writer day looks fanstastic - the kids' faces say it all!

And what a lovely school!

Hi there

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened to me. I went AWOE (absent without excuses). I had a column to write - the first of (hopefully) a run of them - so I got all anal about it being right, you know?

She really had a lovely time, partly because she loves doing something that she knows I'm genuinely interested in. But also because he's obviously a great speaker and made the kids laugh. She came home and said "He asked us 'what do all stories need?' And we thought and we called things out, and then he told us: it was PROBLEMS. All stories need problems, otherwise, it's just not interesting, is it?"

I'm so determined to get to 10,000 today, but I'm clean out of energy and I'm still 400 words short. The last 400 have been wrung out...not sure where to find the rest.

All the best
