This actually looks like a holiday rather than a protest. Maybe because they all (at least in the photos and video_ have such lovely smiles. I assumed it would be scary. Is it?
Queenie, OMG, I'm having a nervous breakdown... who are in my neighbourhood?
Eeek, yes let's hope so, though I worry about that.
FP, so close huh? The PM lives a couple of streets away and they were going to pour blood outside his house! Yuk.
Sue, it was the oddest occasion. It wasn't remotely scary; in fact it felt like I was at a carnival and not a demo at all. There were all these people out on the streets, waving red things, and loud music... madness.
blood? animal blood??? Eeeewwww ..... must stink the hell out of the neigbourhood!!! JJ, stay on alert! I've been avoiding those red-shirt areas and u hav it right in front of ur door, eewww..bloood!
Chris, the blood is horrible, isn't it? Yes, we're doing alright. There isn't much that we can do because Son must stay here til the end of June so I'm just hoping it doesn't escalate.
Woofy, I hate to tell you this but it's the blood of the protesters *grimaces.* We can't smell anything here and nor have I driven past the PM's house because I really DO NOT want to see any blood anywhere!
Great post ! Great you went out and took pics !!Did you wear a redshirt to fit in? :-) The blood throwing is horrible... glad you're not next door to the PM !
I moved with my family to Bangkok in July 2005. What do I do? I make hats and costumes; I’ve written articles, a novel and a non-fiction book is underway… I've held a variety of volunteer positions within the expat community.
Tea stains is where I write and illustrate the things that consume me: life in Thailand, shop windows, books, cats, making, hats, fascinators, tea and the colour orange.

The clue's in the name, right?
Let's hope the protests stay peaceful.
My God JJ - take care!

Saw the pics of the blood in this morning's Metro. Gross but pleased to hear that you didn't feel threatened.
Surreal situation.
CC, the blood really is gross, isn't it? Eewugh. That's what they were doing in my part of town: pouring blood outside the prime minister's place.
I have to say I do fret for you when I hear about the protests there, but you seem to be handling it well. Ewwww! to that blood-spattering!

Thinking of you. I hope it all stays peaceful and is over soon.
