Today is for writing

I am going public to say that today is for writing and that's what I'm going to do. I will come back and report what has been done.

Please harangue me if I don't.

Update:

Oh bollox, bollox. bollox.

I wrote my article for this month, I wrote my website report, and then I wrote a total of about 500 words of novel. Pathetic.

Am I telling the right story? Am I the wrong storyteller?

Not feeling good; feeling distinctly wibbly wobbly. Hopefully no-one will notice this since I have written it very small.

Thanks Liz, getting a bit sidelined already. I am so weak...

Hope you are getting on alright. Have just taken a break myself and am now getting back into it. Hope my comment doesn't distract you!

ah ha! I noticed, although had to edge nearer the screen to see. Do not be despondant with 500 words That is fine. It's 500 more than you had yesterday.

Keep going. I had my wibbly wobbly last week and I'm quite cheeful now about it all. It helps not to think too deeply about it.

Remember - you have permission to write rubbish. Yes you do. When you have come to the end of the first draft you will see that it isn't that bad and there are some good bits and some brilliant bits. But you will have something to edit. Not nothing. Keep going. You are doing really well.

Oh you caught me indeed. Sorry I didn't reply before - it did make me stop and then I decided I should keep going...

I am feeling very stampy footed today. Horrible children fought over supper and we all got cross and I retreated into my cave, where I've been playing bejewelled.

Big sigh. It's so horrible isn't it? Why do I do this? I thought I had better control over it all. I can't write tomorrow, am away for the weekend on Friday, not back til Monday... I'm not sure I'm up to this.

Thank you for your kind words, Helen.

You are up to this. Your blog is proof of that. Just have the weekend off and come back to it next week. I won't be working much after today either as it is bank holiday weekend...

Didn't miss but had to check my glasses. 500 is awsome but pat your self on the back and enjoy the weekend? But it's onlt Wednesday? Never mind enjoy :-)

Thanks again Helen. I think it's more to do with arguments with two tired children than serious doubts about writing.

Though why I focus on hardly writing any novel when I got my article done is beyond me! Why can't I say 'hey you did great, you got most of your article written'?

Hi Liz - the problem is that tomorrow isn't free, Friday might be, but the three days over the weekend aren't free, so won't be til tuesday. Feeling a bit crappy and stampy footed.

Tomorrow might be better!

I'm always quite pleased if I manage 500 words a day... even without counting the weekend, that makes 2,500 words a week. That's pretty good when one already has a life that's bursting!

Almost tricked me with the small font, but not quite. ;)
Writers possess a rare talent for procrastination, I've found, but don't let the wobbles get you down. 500 words is still great (and what I'm hoping for these days with my own wobbles!). Keep on keepin on!

Sorry Jen but did you say that you had written your article for this month, your website report AND 500 words?

I think that's bloody good going!!

Ok, so not all the words were for your novel but if you count up ALL the words you wrote today - it'll come to a hell of a lot more that 500!! So you wrote......(insert number here) 500 of which were for your novel
