Name and Shame

It's no wonder I'm not getting much done is it?

Look at the state of my desk.

And peek down and notice the stuff under the desk where my legs and feet should be able to stretch out. I'm probably developing DVTs as I type.

Sadly, there's nothing in the Flake tin under the desk.

I'm going to try really hard to clear it all up soon. And then I can come back and post tidy desk pictures.

I wonder what I'll find.

(Daughter came to talk to me after school yesterday. She sat down, peered at my office chair and announced: 'You need to clean your chair. It's got micro-organisms growing on it.')

I have my own Empire of Junk.
I think its great that you gave the world a peek at a corner of your life that was a little cluttered.
Nice blog.

Hi Robert, thanks for coming by. I thought it might shame me into clearing up... but only after I've finished the article that's causing me to tear my hair out.

Well, I always manage to accumulate mess on my desk. Then I clean and tidy up. But it is only a matter of seconds before it is a mess again.

Pointless.

I don't know why I bother.

Although it does feel good for those few minutes of tidiness...

I have mess extended to below desk too but yours looks reeeeally uncomfortable. A flake tin with no flakes in it? Get rid of that first I say!

Don't tear our hair out - simply drape it over your eyes. If you can't see the mess, it ceases to exist.

Good luck with the article.

Your desk looks exactly like mine. And I mean EXACTLY. I'm amazed by your bravery in sharing it - I couldn't do it!

You and me both, JJ! I do sympathise. It will feel so good when you've done it. I hope you find some treasures (not too distracting) while you tidy!

AND THEN KEEP IT LIKE THAT!

I can't work with a messy desk - have never been able to. I always feels like a messy desk makes my mind messy.....maybe you should tidy before finishing the article :-)
