Party Update

I had a lovely party on Friday, but I went to bed at 11pm because Daughter and I were up at 5am and off to school at 5.30am for another swimming competition. It went a bit pear shaped some time after that.

Some of Husband’s colleagues had come early on Friday to help a little bit; there weren’t many jobs to do apart from shuffle some furniture around and then the ‘helpers,’ Husband, Son and Daughter got embroiled in Playstation Dance Mat (I want to say that name in an American advertising accent: PLAYstation Daance Maat, cos it sounds good cheesy). I’m told Thais like to have something to do at parties. They love their food but they also want some kind of entertainment, so we’d got the aforementioned PLAYstation Daance Maat in one room and a karaoke machine in the main room. In a third room we’d got a bar. The free flow bar was our downfall – Thais don’t appear to hold their drink so well – I think my sofa may dry out at some point.

Please, trust me on this, the less said the better.

On an altogether cheerier note, I finally managed to get a cool picture of daughter swimming, and not a series of splashes ... OK, I got lots of those too, but here she is doing butterfly:

Beautiful photo. So graceful (my butterfly stroke looks nothing like this; usually people think I am drowning)...

Well, you've got a huge party tick now, haven't you? Next year do analcoholic cocktails! (but by the sounds of things I think you've already figured that out for yourselves ;-)

Ew, sounds as if it wasn't only the bar that was free-flowing...

Hey ho, it's not a proper party unless you get your friend Mr Musce out the next day :0)

Or Mr Muscle, even. D'oh. Am a sausage-fingered spaz.

Pacha, yes you're right: Party: TICK.

Doesn't she look great? She earned a comment from the announcer at her style too. I cannot even begin to do butterfly - it's so hard.

Jen, Hmmmm, yes. Husband did a good job with Mr M! (I knew what you meant!)

Glad you had a good party.
At least it was the sofa and not your bedside table:-)

Fanastic photo. She looks like a very talented swimmer!

Sounds like a fantastic party. I think, as adults, we don't get to 'play' as much as we should. I think it's good for the soul! I had a go on the Playstation SingStar Superstar (or something like that) with my boyfriend and it was great! I even beat him on the 1980s tracks and he's a singer a band and I'm tone deaf (the game is about getting the right beat rather than the right notes!).

Oh, lovely piccie, it's hard to get good moving pictures.
Sounds like your party was quite the hit. Hope you enjoyed it and you've recovered. ;)
