Nursery Rhymes

Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the cupboard
To fill her tea caddy with bags,
When she got there
The tea packet was bare
So poor little JJ had none.

Aaaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Now JJ, both you and I know that there is a bag of 1400 (not 10, not 40, but 1400!!!!) tea bags in the cupboard next to the Piano. I know they are 'one cup' but that is no excuse for not drinking them or for hiding them away. Just use two bags per cup. It's ok, it's not like the mug is too thick or worse still blue inside. Go on, you know you want to, they're even pyramids too. You could always staple two bags together so it seems like you are addding a single "two cup" bag to the mug. You'll never notice the difference.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!

That must be even worse than running out of tea in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales.

I fear for our collective safety if Ms M does not get two hot, strong cups of tea first thing in the morning. Eeek.

I do hope Beast is right. And it's ok to use extra, you know. I promise nobody will come and tell you off for spending the tea-ration recklessly.

Repeat after me: I am a grown-up. I can put two teabags in my mug if I want to.

(You can also run with scissors, eat jelly babies for lunch and stay up past your bedtime if you want to).

How could you let this happen?

How how how how how how how?

What will you do? What will you do?

What. Will. You. Do?

Oh I feel so sorry for you, I have just sent the OH back to England to stock up. It's going to be more problematic now that we are so much further south, we have to fly. Anyway I have told him to leave his spare clothes behind to ensure plenty of tea room!!!

I hate it when that happens - I must drink tea to function. Running out of tea is akin to the thought of having no chocolate for a week! Hellish!

I found your blog a few days ago and am loving how it makes me smile even when I'm feeling grumpy - thanks!

Beast, JUDAS. They don't taste right. And where are my teabags from the man in the office? Please...

Stray, Beast is right, I do have some one cup ones, but ... I do understand Ms M's needing two strong cups in the morning. Only I need them two hourly.

Yvonne, YEEEEESSSSS

Lane, I will won't I. No books for me: just teabags and tampax this time.

Caroline, I'm sorry. don't share my pain ... I'll have to make doooo...

Sue, are you going cold turkey too?

Sheepish, thank you. When you think of the flight, just remember my 12 hour flight ... for teabags!

Katw, hello and welcome. Thanks for coming by. Me too: OMG me too. Will not cope without it.

Oh no, JJ. I have to have tea and biccies at nine when I am writing. The bloke from Stoke brings it upstairs.

I suppose I could always manage Baileys if we did run out...xxx

No doubt some super-fast courier could have them with you in under twenty-four hours; but at the resulting £6 a cup, it might not be worth it!

Best go for the One Cup instead.
We won't tell. Promise.

Oh how you make me laugh jj! Tis surely the end of the world as we know it when one runs out of the sacred TEA bag!!

Carol said...

Oh JJ....am shaking my head in despair!! Beast is right...you do have teabags but of the one cup variety you just need to ask everyone that is going back to the UK to bring you a box of tea back with them. You know I am going to :-)

Karen, my world HAS stopped turning. Eeeek.

L Plate, Hmmm, no Baileys wouldn't do it for me I'm afraid.

Leigh, I suppose I shall HAVE to...

Mel, I'm glad I made you titter my friend. I'm hoping you were laughing with me, not AT me.

Carol, I won't have room for anything else this trip. Nothing but Tampax and teabags. And, many thanks for the award.

Debs, Eeeek for 16pence a teabag yes and only in boxes of 40 which I don't think will get me past a week!

Ooooh, Jon, you are a tease. I'm coming over to yours to taunt finger lickin' good at your fowl!

Laurie, I am ... I'm going cold turkey.
