After Pimms, a BBQ and a late night yesterday I've found myself on English time very quickly.
Today we went to a summer fete.
There were strawberries, Victoria sponges, face painting, a BBQ, a tombola, a welly wanging competition, Pimms and beer, live music, country dancing, singing, fish a duck, raffles, decorate a cookie, bouncy castles and lots more.
My sister was on the face painting stall which meant for the second year running, so was I.

That's so funny! Your selection of pictures of the fete could have been from the one we went to today, too. That just shows you - the English summer fete is the English summer fete, and nothing can change it. (I really enjoyed my Pimms - it was about three-quarters of a pint! And fishing out the strawberries with my fingers afterwards. Divine.)
Ooh, how very English! :-)
Love the photographs! x
Great photos. I have never tried Pimms even though I've lived here 17 years now.
Ah yes, you know you're in England when you find yourself at a fete. Lovely photos.
That looks like a lot of fun! I love going to fete's...and am about to head off to go to one in Cirencester :-) (but I can guarantee that my photo's will not be as great as yours!)

Fran, absolutely. It could've been the one we did at our old school in Bucks too. I had quite a lot of Pimms on Friday night so none at the fete! But happily, I seem able to tolerate quite a bit of Pimms (I can't seem to tolerate other smaller quantities of alcohol!)
Amanda, isn't it? Thank you. Quite a change from my Bangkok pictures.
DJ, NOOOOOOOO? O.M.G. Honey, we HAVE to put that right!
Thanks Helen. (Oh, less than a week now!)
Carol, thanks hon. I hope you have fun at the one in Cirencester.
Glad you're safely back here - those strawberries nad the Pimms look wonderful...!
I haven't been to a fete in ages, but thankfully have had Pimms recently. Yum.
Hi JJ,
I just found only now your comment on my blog.
We will arrive in BKK on July 17th.
Will you be back after school holidays? Did I tell you that my son joins Patana school?
Have a great summer in England.
BTW where is the cream for the strawberries?
The food is awesome and delicious and it looks so pretty, colorful and too presentable as well.
