... but I don't like not blogging, so here's what's in my head.
I’m struggling a bit …
My tonsilitus keeps recurring.
I’m very busy and in between busyness (ha, never noticed business like that) I am reading lots … can’t seem to stop unless to sleep.
Julia Bell’s Massive
Margaret Drabble’s The Millstone
Ian McEwan’s On Chesil Beach
This week I have to finish my articles or I’ll never get cracking on the race...

Oh poor you! Hope the tonsilitus stops (and stops recurring)...it's all illness/flu over here too...
I haven't read any of those books. Saw 'On Chesil Beach' in bookshop (in English) on Saturday and was tempted to buy it (but I have stacks of books to read at home so I talked myself out of it) - Was it any good????
Good luck with the race!
I haven't read any of those either:-(
Let us know what you think.
Hope the nasty old throat clears up. At least you've got tonsils (most people my age had them whipped out as a matter of course). I didn't realise until recently that they act as a barrier to stop infections getting further into the body. Or did I dream that??
Good luck finishing the articles:-)
i loved "chesil beach." i cried and cried at the end because it was such a surprise. and my husband stared at me,aghast, and said, "you didn't see that coming?"
it'll be interesting to see if you're more like my husband, or more like me.
i hate tonsilitus.
I haven't read any of those either. A reading frenzy sounds just the thing to cure a lingering lurgy.

Hello all, I really loved On Chesil Beach - it's so tragic. I thought Massive was great too - wonderful voice, and I really cared about the protagonist. The Margaret Drabble was ... perhaps it was just dated, but it was okay.

I hope the tonsilitis improves soon. Like Lane, I had mine whipped out when I was much younger at the same time as my sister. I haven't read any of those books either but there's nothing better than to settle down and get lost in a good book when you're not feeling too well.
Ouch! Enjoy your reading and get well soon.
Lurgies around the world unite...and bugger off.
Hope you feel better soon, and that the reading is as distracting as it sounds.
Hope you're managing to shake the bug - am sending you positive vibes across the ether!
Good luck with the articles too. I have a story to edit, and am going to force myself to do it before chemo starts!
I haven't read any of those books either - will make a concerted effort to read them before I'm 90!!!
